Diocesan School for Girls
Waikato Diocesan School for Girls is in Hamilton and has a roll of around 670 students, including 160 boarders. The school has well-established traditions of excellence and is widely recognised as one of the highest-performing schools in New Zealand, with an enviable record of academic, sporting, and cultural achievements.
Lighting the Way
Field hockey is a flagship sport for the school. The existing Hockey field had eight 10m high poles with a total of 12 existing two kwatt metal halides. The challenge was to increase the light levels, power supply, and consistency to meet the client's brief of a hockey field that had 500 lux. Lumosa installed two new 14.5m high poles (Maximum height allowed by the local council) and installed a total of 20 * CS860pro Lumosa LEDs. Particular care was required with aiming as the spill light restrictions were tight. With shields and careful aiming Lumosa has delivered an excellent lighting solution and a world-class facility.
Well done – we set Lumosa an arduous challenge – improve the lighting but preserve as much of the existing lighting infrastructure (Poles) as possible. The results are just stunning. Lumosa has delivered for us again.
